Peter Twist, BPE, MPE,CSCS, TSCC-GOLD

Twist Sport Conditioning – President & CEO

 

Coach Twist coached in the National Hockey League for 11 years and is currently a consultant for several NHL players and agents. An exercise physiologist with a M.Sc and a specialization in Coaching Science, Twist has published over 400 papers, authored 10 books and 19 DVD’s on athlete development, while coaching over 700 professional athletes including league MVP’s Mark Messier (hockey), Justin Morneau (baseball) and Hakeem Olajuwon (basketball) Christine Sinclair (soccer). A headline presenter at all major international sport and fitness conferences, including IDEA, NSCA, MultiTrax, FitPro, CanFitPro, ECA and the Australian Fitness Network, Peter was honored with the National Strength & Conditioning Association’s 1998 Presidents Award and Can-Fit-Pro 2003 Specialty Presenter of the Year Award.

 

 

 

Leslie Martin, BSc, CSCS TSCC- Bronze

Strength & Conditioning Coach

 

From Burnaby and a Twist athlete for 7 years, Leslie Martin grew up participating in many different sports before deciding to focus on basketball and soccer competitively. Although she loved both sports, soccer was her main focus and after graduating high school she earned a full athletic scholarship to South Carolina State University, a Division 1 NCAA school. After four years of as a member of SCSU’s woman’s soccer team and living in the deep south, she graduated in May 2013. Leslie earned her BSc PE/PAM and moved back to the west coast. When not playing sports, Leslie loves spending time with her friends and family,  and has a not so secret passion for baking and traveling.

 

Devin Gunenc, BKIN, TSCC- Bronze

Strength & Conditioning Coach

Growing up in North Vancouver, Devin has been part of the local soccer community for years, both as a player and coach. He has played for a number of BC provincial teams and has been privileged with the opportunity to represent Canada at the U17 international level. He was then selected to play for the Whitecaps Residency program in its start out year. Devin completed his Bachelors in Kinesiology at UBC while captaining the Men’s soccer program to a national championship in his final year.

 

Sean Causier, BHK, CSCS, CSEP-CPT, TSCC- Silver

Strength & Conditioning Coach

Sean grew up in Port Moody BC, playing at an elite level of multiple sports including soccer, hockey, lacrosse, baseball, and basketball before choosing soccer as a sport to pursue.  Sean’s soccer career has taken him BC provincial and Y-league teams to 5 years of varsity soccer while attending university.  Sean attended and played Capilano University for 3 years achieving his diploma in Human Kinetics along with winning BCAA provincial and CCAA national championships.  He finished his degree in Human Kinetics in Kelowna at UBCO 2 years later, where he then worked as the strength and conditioning coach for the UBCO men’s soccer team for 2 seasons taking them from the PACWEST division to the CIS in a very successful first season.  Sean has worked with athletes of many different sports from youth to adult from many different skill levels. When not on the training floor, Sean still plays soccer competitively at a high level but also enjoys downhill mountain biking, snowboarding, golfing, and hiking.

Josh Neumann, BKin, CSCS TSCC- Silver

 

After finishing his BHKIN (Physical Education) degree in 2006, Josh decided to pursue a career in the health and fitness industry instead of pursuing an education degree. He has been actively engaged in the Strength and Conditioning field since, and joined the Twist Vancouver team in May of 2015. Josh is also involved in coaching and physical education as Head Lacrosse Coach for the Delta School Board. He was the coach of U19 Team BC Lacrosse for two years with one National Championship and one Finalist for National Championship. It was through his volunteer experience that he was able to become the Head Coach of the first ever Lacrosse Academy in Lower Mainland.
